Meet Tamsen Meierdierck, Licensed Senior LIving and Care Advisor
Raised in Carson City, Nevada, I've spent the past 15 years working inside the senior living industry while helping families navigate some of life's most difficult decisions. My personal journey began even earlier, helping my own family navigate Alzheimer's disease, dementia, cancer and the challenges that come with aging.
Those experiences shaped the way I care for every family I serve.
I've been where many of the families I work with are today—trying to understand care options, compare communities, make sense of pricing, and make the best decision for someone I love. That personal experience, combined with 15 years of professional experience inside senior living communities, gives me a unique perspective that helps families make confident, informed decisions.
Working within senior living has given me an insider's understanding of how communities operate, how care assessments are conducted, how pricing is structured, and what questions families should be asking before making such an important decision. I help families understand not only which community may be the best fit, but why, including care needs, services, pricing, contracts, and what to expect before, during, and after a move.
I founded Nevada Care Compass to bridge the gap between families and senior living providers. My goal is simple: to make a confusing process easier to understand and ensure every family feels informed, supported, and never alone.

A Trusted, State-Licensed Referral Partner
Nevada's senior referral laws changed in 2024 to create greater transparency and accountability throughout the referral process. These regulations help protect families, senior living providers, and referral agencies by ensuring referrals are made through licensed professionals operating under written agreements and clear ethical standards.
Communities may compensate a referral agency only when that agency is licensed by the State of Nevada and has a written referral agreement in place with the community. Working with unlicensed referral sources or paying referral fees outside these requirements can create unnecessary regulatory and compliance risk.
I hold License #12186-BPR-0 and am Northern Nevada's only active, state-licensed senior living placement advisor. Every family is personally assessed by me before a referral is made, helping ensure referrals are appropriate, informed, and better prepared for a successful transition.

A.) Initial planning conversations and placement guidance services are provided at no cost to families. Additional in-home planning, coordination, and transition support services may be available at an additional cost when more hands-on assistance is needed.
Q.) Do you work with all senior living communities?
A.) We work with many senior living communities, residential care homes, and senior service providers throughout Northern Nevada. Recommendations are based on care needs, budget, timing, availability, and overall fit for the individual situation.
Q.) Do you provide Medicaid or low-income placement services?
A.) Nevada Care Compass does not provide Medicaid navigation or low-income housing placement services. Families seeking subsidized programs or community assistance resources are encouraged to contact Nevada 211 for additional information and support.
Q.) Can families contact you before a crisis happens?
A.) Absolutely. Many families reach out early to better understand future options, aging-in-place planning, warning signs to watch for, and how to prepare before urgent decisions become necessary.
